Kirstie Alley hates hate
by roberta on Nov.05, 2009, under articles
Just like Adam Lambert, Kirstie Alley is of the same mind when it comes to hate….she thinks it’s despicable.
After talking about another secret deal that she’s signing behind closed doors (we’re sure it’s going to be good!), Kirstie took to her Twitter page to discuss hateful comments a fan was receiving about a food drive. A FOOD DRIVE!
The fan, Gary Arbaugh, tweeted, “@kirstiealley We were running a TWITTER FOOD DRIVE, were accused of spamming and evil comments were constantly posted on the blog.”
To which, she responded with this knowledge:
@Gary1980Arb I have learned about people full of hate. DON’t HATE them..pity them and imagine what it would feel like to be them..sad
HATE is a disease of the spirit. I means a persons soul is blackened by their own sad deeds and finally the only thing they can FEEL is hate
For more information on the food drive, check out Gary Arbaugh’s Twitter page or read the story behind the food drive here.
Good luck, Gary!

Kara DioGuardi Outs Adam Lambert
by roberta on May.29, 2009, under articles
Even though it really is no secret that Adam Lambert is gay, “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi has let the cat officially out of the bag.

I’m not sure why Adam feels the need to have people “speculating”, but DioGuardi wasn’t aware that it was some big secret.
When DioGuardi was asked by Barbara Walters whether or not Lambert’s sexuality may have influenced the voting audience of “American Idol”, she said, “Well, first of all, I hope not….because we should be judiging on talent and viability in the music industry and they both had that.”
She added, “I don’t think that Adam was ever in [the closet]. I think he was always openly out.”
I agree, given that the picture above was released while he was still in the competition.
Adam Lambert & Kris Allen Don’t Get Naked Together – Video

American Idol finalists Adam Lambert and Kris Allen were interviewed shortly after last night’s finale performances, when they were asked something about them getting naked.
Check out their responses!
And what did you think of the coronation song?
American Idol Studio Recordings May 12, 2009
by roberta on May.14, 2009, under articles
Each week, I’ve been lucky enough to get a hold of the studio recordings from American Idol. This week was no different. The guys recorded their studio versions of each of the songs and they sounded that much better.

I’m not going to say anything further about last night’s results show, except to say that I was pleased.
Check out all six songs here:

Danny Gokey Given The Axe On ‘American Idol’
by roberta on May.13, 2009, under articles
Can you believe it?
It was said, even by Simon Cowell, that Kris Allen didn’t have what it takes to go further in the show. But he made it through!

Someone heard my begging and pleading and Go-Go-Gokey has been eliminated! Ha.
American Idol Live Performances May 12, 2009 (Audio)
by roberta on May.13, 2009, under articles
American Idol is dwindling down to an almost halt soon. Last week, Allison Iraheta was shown the door, even though her performance was much better than Danny Gokey’s.

On Tuesday night’s show, the judges selected a song for each singer to perform. Afterwards, the guys got to choose their own song.
Danny Gokey was up first and sang Terrence Trent D’Arby’s song, “Dance Little Sister”, as chosen by Paula Abdul, for the crowd.

His voice sounded really strained singing this song. I am not a fan of this version at all.
After Danny’s performance, Kris Allen took the stage to perform One Republic’s “Apologize”, as chosen by Randy Jackson.

This was a nice slow song and it was definitely a good song choice for Kris. I hope to see him in the finale of the show, alongside Adam Lambert.
Speaking of Adam, Simon Cowell chose U2’s song, “One” for him to sing. I’m not a fan of this version of the song at all. I really like U2 and this song is old school. It wasn’t the best song choice for Adam, in my opinion.

After the judge’s choice, the guys were able to sing a song of their own choice.
Danny started off again, singing Joe Cocker’s song, “You Are So Beautiful” and it reeked! This guy needs to go home already. It’s over for Gokey. Vote Gokey off of the island already. He already hosed up Allison’s chances.

Kris then tore up the stage with Kanye West’s song, “Heartless”. I’m not a huge fan of Kanye’s, but the song was good for Kris and he seemed to do pretty well for himself with it. Maybe he’ll make it to the final two because of this song.
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
And last but not least, Adam sang Aerosmith’s “Cryin’” and he murdered it. Do you think he’s doing that on purpose? I love Aerosmith, but to hear what he did to the song, it should be against the law.

The Top Four American Idol Studio Recordings (AUDIO)
by roberta on May.07, 2009, under articles
The top four really did try on Tuesday night’s American Idol, but it wasn’t as bad as it sounded. The studio recordings are actually decent.

Check out the studio recordings from each of the contestant’s performances. I think if these were released prior to the vote, we may have had a different result.

American Idol ROCK WEEK Top Four Review, Originals, & Audio
by roberta on May.06, 2009, under articles
On American Idol last night, it was my favorite of all weeks, Rock Week. And who else could mentor such burgeoning rock careers other than the almighty Slash from Velvet Revolver (ex-GnR).

Up first was rocker Adam Lambert belting out Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love”. The crowd went crazy, everybody cheered, this was a good thing. But what people fail to realize is that he really did butcher a classic last night.

Adam Lambert’s version:

See the difference? Everyone thinks he rocked it, but that’s probably because they’ve never heard the original.
Next up was Allison Iraheta, who sang Janis Joplin’s “Cry Baby”. No one EVER should attempt Janis Joplin. Bad song choice, kiddo. No offense, I’m sure your voice is just lovely otherwise, but methinks Janis is turning over in her grave as we speak.

See? No comparison. Not even close.
Up next were Kris Allen and Danny Gokey and their version of Styx’s song, “Renegade”. This karaoke version of the song was less than mediocre.
Have a listen:

There are just some songs that are out of your vocal abilities, accept that and move on. This was one of those times.
Kris Allen then took the stage to sing “Come Together” by The Beatles. His voice was so strained, it was unbelievable. He sounded like a mini mediocre Rob Thomas at a karaoke bar. The crowd loved it, but it wasn’t good at all. This is another song that no one really should attempt. Maybe he thought he would get by because the song mentions “Coca Cola”, which is a sponsor of the show.

Danny Gokey took the stage next to murder Aerosmith’s “Dream On” and it was just horrible. This is not looking good for this poor kid. Never take on a song that’s completely and totally out of your vocal range.

Last up, Allison and Adam did their rendition of Foghat’s “Slow Ride”. The judges loved them like a fat kid loves cake, which I didn’t get.

Check out Paula Abdul’s new song here, if you haven’t heard it yet. She’ll be singing that in a live performance on tonight’s show.
Verdict: They should all should be sent packing, they are murderers of beautiful songs and that should be illegal.
