A playpen is an enclosed square structure enclosed with some kind of material netting. Manufacturers have strict saftey restrictions and perform strict testing to ensure a child does not get injured. In my opinion, a child one year of age is not tall enough, strong enough or smart enough to know how to climb out of a playpen. A one year old cannot get their leg over the wall of a playpen. And if the baby did manage to climb out the playpen is only 5 inches off the ground. Butt first is how they usually fall out while grabbing the side. What kind of playpen are they talking about and how high off the ground was it? Or was this baby left alone in a crib with the railing left down? Babies fall all the time and don’t fracture the head and die. It is odd to me that Billy Bob Thornton’s daughter was baby sitting in the first place.
